Clearly, we can’t be complacent about the consequences of losing foreign employers, not to mention their financial contribution to our economic health and wellbeing. Today it’s a very tangled web we’ve woven that is heavily reliant on the benefits of the single market, open borders, favourable trade tariffs and the positive perception of us as a European country and member of the EU.

Very little is reported on the 10 o’clock news of the opinion over life after Brexit. There is however no lack of views on the internet.

‘Britain must suffer the consequences!’ Macron to deliver stern Brexit warning to London
THE favourite to become France’s new president is calling for Britain to ‘suffer the consequences’ for shunning the European Union.

Mr Macron said last week: “If your government decides to organise a Brexit, I will be pretty tough on it.”
The former investment banker told Channel 4 News: “We have to preserve the rest of the European Union, and not convey the message that you can decide to leave without any consequences.”
He is particularly insistent that there will be no EU passport and ‘no access to the single market’ for the British after a hard Brexit, adding: “It is not a matter of punishing but of being consistent with such a decision.””
